Our Adoption Story

We intially created this website to update family and friends about our journey to adopting a baby from Taiwan. We traveled to Taiwan in December 2005 and brought home our wonderful baby boy, William Ke-Fan. The blog has been such a hit with family and friends that we have decided to continue it.

It's a boy!

We accepted a referral for a baby boy on Monday, June 27. His birth name is Ke-Fan (pronounced Kuh-Fahn). He was born May 12, 2005, weighing about 5 lbs 11 oz and measuring a little under 19 inches long. From the medical information that we have, he appears to be a healthy baby who was already over 8 1/2 lbs at 5 weeks old.

Now, we are working on a dossier, which is basically a collection of documents that the Taiwanese government will need to review in order to approve our adoption. Assuming that all goes well, we will travel to Taiwan in 6 months to adopt our baby boy!

Note: Most countries do not send any additional photos after the referral. We are fortunate that the orphanage in Taiwan sends updates every 4-6 weeks. We will post new pictures as we receive them.
