Climbing
William started climbing a few months ago. At first, he started stepping on toys and books to make himself taller. Then he began to climb on his little chairs and onto the hearth in front of the fireplace, which is a good foot and a half off the ground. The little chairs were then steps up to the little tables. YIKES!
We bought him a slide hoping to turn his desire to climb toward something constructive. After a few weeks of learning how to use the slide properly, William loves it. He can climb up and slide down all by himself.
The slide helped curb his desire to climb on unsafe things for a while. However, he has gone back to standing on his chairs and we have to remind him to sit several times a day.
