Talking

William's speech has improved dramatically over the last month or two. He started making more complicated sounds and, for a while, it was really hard to understand what he was saying. He was very patient with us and often had to repeat a word 3 or 4 times. In the last week or two, his speech has become noticeably clearer. He regularly uses 4 and 5 word sentences now and surprises us with new words every day. The other day, he said "notebook" clear as a bell. It's amazing how quickly his language skills are developing. He is getting much better at repeating words and phrases that we use.

I thought I better record some of William's "words" before I forget them. I have a feeling many of these won't be in use for much longer.

"boppy" = apple
"boppy" = pineapple
"tinkle" = star
"tinkle" = yogurt

We were teaching him Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star when he learned about stars and yogurt. Hence, the common word. It's cute to listen to him "sing" the song. He has the tune down pretty well now. He really punches out the bolded words.
