We received our September update for baby Will. These pictures were all taken in late August, when he was almost 3 1/2 months old. It seems like he is doing really well. He can now control his head, search for the source of a voice, roll from front to back, and laugh during play. We just imagine him smiling up a storm. A week after these pictures were taken, he was 13 lbs and 24 in. We can't believe how much he has grown! If he keeps this up, he will probably weigh 18-20 lbs when we bring him home. We may need to start lifting weights to get ready for that! Thank goodness we will have three people to hold him while we are in Taiwan. We are planning to take a baby carrier and a lightweight stroller. Hopefully, that will help our tired arms and backs.

In last month's update, we forgot to mention that our case moved from Supreme Court to District Court. It took our case a little under a month to make it through Supreme Court. District Court is the longer of the two and will take several months to complete. We will have to go through a hearing date, a first ruling, and a final ruling. Then we will be able to travel to Taiwan. Hopefully, that will be around January or February of next year. Only days after we entered District Court, we found out that the Supreme Court process has now been abolished. This will shorten the process for other families adopting through Taiwan by 1-2 months. Unfortunately, this decision will not affect our adoption process for William.

We started clearing out the room that will become Will's nursery. We had a garage sale last month before school started and sold quite a bit. Last week, Allen dropped some cables so that we could rearrange the living room to fit the computer, etc., from the study. We had already painted Will's room sky blue a couple of years back and plan to put up a wallpaper border. It has cute little characters on it, like dragonflies, frogs, bees, and snails. We were even able to buy a bedding set that matches. The comforter says, "Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite." Now that we are teaching again, we can only work on the nursery on the weekends. With only 4 months or so left to go, that doesn't leave very many days to work on these things.
